New programme: LDT editor
|
02.07.2010
Many users regularly ask us for advice on the topic of EULUMDAT. This well-established and widely known file format is in use in many parts of the world.
There are many planners and designers using Eulumdat files in cases when the manufacturer does not (yet) have a DIALux PlugIn or when new products are introduced which are not yet included in the PlugIn. In order to make it easier for planners (and luminaire manufacturers) to handle Eulumdat files, DIAL provides a programme free of charge which displays the content of Eulumdat files and provides some small editing options.
Since LDT files are pure text files, modifications could also be made with a text editor but it is much more convenient with a tool like the LDT editor. In order to use this free programme you just have to register.
You will find the LDT Editor 1.0 under the following link: D O W N L O A D.

Lighting Design at the Horticultural Exhibition in Hemer
|
26.04.2010
On the 17 April the gates were opened for the Horticultural Exhibition of North Rhine-Westphalia. Until 29 October visitors will have the opportunity to be enchanted by the transformation of the former military barracks into an exhibition of flowers and landscapes. DIAL has been responsible for the illumination of the Jacob’s Ladder, the Forum and the Jüberg Tower. The aim of the lighting design was to highlight architectural elements and to heighten the perception of space in the hours of darkness. In the Forum this was achieved through glare-free illumination of the façade of the barracks. In addition the Jacob’s Ladder has been accentuated as a central axis for linking the Forum with the lookout tower ( Jüberg Tower). Thus at night axis and tower can be recognized from afar as a “landmark”.
