short details

Expert for Lighting Design

You would like to plan and design lighting:

  • which makes people feel good.
  • which does justice to the object and its architecture.
  • which takes the properties of the building materials into account.
  • which supports productivity.
  • which harmonizes with the daylight available.
  • which creates an atmosphere.
Our five-day seminar “Expert for Lighting Design“ will show you how to achieve this.

Here you will systematically work through the processes of comprehensive lighting design which take all these aspects into consideration. The benefits of this seminar for you are:

  • Learning how to systematically plan and design lighting according to function, architecture and user requirements
  • Completely independent of manufacturer and product
  • High proportion of practical exercises and workshops
  • Developing presentation techniques and arguments

You will develop and put into practice all the planning steps from analysis of the object through the development of a concept to creating the dimensions and selecting the luminaires. We work without a PC, but instead use pencil and paper and – what is most important – a feeling for light. You will experience how logically a lighting concept develops. Your trainer will support you in focussing on essentials. You will learn and practise how to plan and design good lighting, and also how to present your ideas clearly and with good arguments, e.g. when competing with other lighting concepts.

After a short examination, which you will pass without any problems if you have taken an active part in the seminar, you will receive a certificate which qualifies you as an “Expert for Lighting Design for Indoor Lighting”.

Your trainers

Klaus Bieckmann (33), graduate in interior design, has been working at DIAL since 2006. As well as being a trainer in our Lighting Team he is involved in lighting projects and design.

Andreas Pickelein (38), graduate in lighting technology, is involved intensively in research of light, in light planning and preparing reports. He has been working as a trainer in our lighting seminars since 2000.

Jürgen Spitz (39), graduate in interior design, has been working as a designer for indoor and outdoor lighting for many years. He has been a trainer in the lighting team at DIAL since 2002.

Cornelia Wuttke (30), graduate in architecture, has been working at DIAL since 2008. As well as being a trainer in our Lighting Team she is involved in lighting design.
