What we do – campaigns

In 1989, Trägergesellschaft DIAL e.V. founded DIAL GmbH, and our vision began to take shape. As the majority shareholder, Trägergesellschaft DIAL e.V. determines DIAL GmbH‘s corporate policy. DIAL GmbH is an efficient and flexible service provider whose highly-motivated team of engineers, architects, technicians and sales staff puts in place the infrastructure to achieve the desired aims. DIAL operates on a cost-covering basis. Since this means that all activities must be able to hold their own in the free market, our offers must be very precisely geared to the client’s needs. But what do we offer? And how?

The systematic planning of lighting. Economical and ergonomic. Raising awareness of the fact that the kind of lighting used has a decisive effect of people’s sense of well-being. The expert deployment of bus technology in buildings. Planning and implementing intelligently. Marketing effectively and also networking with all association members.

To pass on this knowledge, we put on training courses and workshops at DIAL. The practical application of practical experience. Concretely applicable. For architects, lighting and electrical planners, for our clients and our personnel.

Meetings like the "Lighting and People” symposium to mark the 10th anniversary of DIAL GmbH, featuring high-powered speakers and innovative lectures to facilitate networking opportunities for experts in the field. These communicative events provide inspiration and bring every single person forward.

Joint research projects were already being proposed and implemented: How strongly does the lighting in an office affect employees’ sense of well-being? How should lighting be designed in order to ensure maximum levels of satisfaction in the workplace?

We posed questions whose answers were geared towards one single goal: to make the strongest possible argument for better lighting in the workplace both visible and tangible; increasing people’s sense of well-being and with it their efficiency and productivity in the workplace.

Joint projects proved to be feasible: leading lighting manufacturers sat down together and initiated a cooperative development with revolutionary results, "DIALux” was born. Sophisticated, user-friendly and free lighting calculation software for planners world-wide. By integrating the electronic lighting catalogues of major partner companies into the software environment, DIALux fulfils two functions: that of an intelligent and cutting-edge planning tool on the one hand, and on the other hand that of a powerful and informative presentation platform for the lighting manufacturers involved.

The establishment of accredited test laboratories for lighting and building technology staffed by qualified personnel, and their economic operation at DIAL, offer every manufacturer the opportunity to undertake low-cost manufacturer-neutral testing by qualified personnel.

Positive reactions to our activities have encouraged us and we will continue in future to devote ourselves to people and technology. Further projects will follow.
