At the first LuxLive DIAL was able to present the internationally leading light calculation software DIALux to a professional audience from all over the world. Around 4000 visitors took the opportunity to find out about innovations in the lighting industry. It was not surprising that the focus here was also on sustainability and energy efficiency. Energy efficiency is becoming more and more important for light planning. Many visitors to LuxLive were particularly interested in the possibilities for planning energy efficient lighting in DIALux in accordance with national standards and norms. The latest version of DIALux can be downloaded here free of charge. 

The next DIALux trainings in Paris and Milan will take place from 23 to 25 November. This three-day training course will explain all the features of DIALux, thereby covering completely all the areas of application in which a light planner is involved: indoor, outdoor, street and emergency lighting. Special focus will be on the planning of energy efficient lighting. You will also have the chance to learn all about Gbxml files. The rooms of a building – complete with doors and windows – can now undergo further editing directly in DIALux with the 4.9 version. You can find further information and register here.

After the great success of the DIALux training courses at Lightfair 2011 in Philadelphia and then in San Fransisco, the next DIALux training will take place in Chicago from 22 to 23 August. This training will cover all important functionalities such as the import of IES data, indoor and outdoor lighting, street lighting (RP-8), import of CAD files (DWG, gbXML) as well as the generation of impressive presentations. Today in the presence of numerous guests from politics and industry the foundation stone for the new DIAL building on the 5000 m2 plot of land in the Bahnhofsalle in Lüdenscheid  was laid. Together with the Lüdenscheid architects from Artec, DIAL is creating a prominent cuboid building complex, setting  standards by paying special attention to the integral process of planning the technical aspects of the building - building systems design. One result of this is the high level of energy efficiency. The building will not have a conventional heating system.
