If you frequently work with self-built models in DIALux evo and want to adapt them throughout your design process, your workflow just got a lot easier.
When selecting a model, you’ll now find two options under “Copy and arrange”: “Split completely” and “Split gradually.”
With “Split completely,” the model is broken down into all its individual parts, just as before. The new “Split gradually” option allows you to disassemble the model step by step, following the same order in which you originally built it.
This makes remodelling much more structured, controlled, and efficient.
Emil Piotrowski, DIALux Expert and certified DIALux Trainer as part of the international DIALux Trainer Network, describes the impact of the new feature from his own experience:

“Until now, whenever I worked with imported, complex models in DIALux, I often had no choice but to use the splitting function to get the results I needed. Yes, it gave me access to individual elements, but it always came at a price. The moment the model was exploded, all the original logic and structure were gone. Objects turned into disconnected triangles and surfaces, hierarchy disappeared, selecting the right elements became frustrating. And honestly, rebuilding parts of a model that were already perfectly built before could take hours. With DIALux evo 14, that workflow finally feels different. The new intelligent breaking down feature gives me a much more precise and logical way to work with imported models. Instead of dissolving the object structure, I can now divide models step by step while keeping their logic intact. For me, this makes fixing mistakes, adjusting details, and continuing work on complex scenes dramatically easier and far less time-consuming.”
