We know that floodlighting design can quickly become complex in the current version of DIALux evo. This is especially true for sports facilities and symmetrical pole arrangements, where precisely aiming luminaires often still involves a lot of manual work. This is exactly what we are working on right now: we are preparing a solution that will make your planning process much easier, faster and more convenient.
Our developers are currently building the technical foundation for new floodlighting features in DIALux evo. The initial focus is on symmetrical pole-mounted luminaires and a significantly improved arrangement of floodlights. In the future, you will be able to select, move and rotate luminaires more easily in the CAD view. New manipulators will help you adjust the aiming directly and intuitively.
One particularly exciting improvement: for symmetrical arrangements, you will be able to mirror luminaires along the axes. This means, for example, that you can place a floodlight on one side of a sports field, and DIALux evo will automatically apply the precisely mirrored angle to the other sides.
Working with floodlighting installations has already been possible before, but it was often quite cumbersome. For example, if you wanted to position a floodlight at a 45-degree angle with a 5% upward tilt, the angles had to be recalculated manually for every additional position: this required a lot of effort and was prone to errors. The new function will take care of these calculations automatically.
In addition, we are working on a second option: in the future, you will also be able to work with aiming points. You simply define where a floodlight should be aimed, and DIALux evo automatically calculates the corresponding angles. These aiming points can also be edited, moved and adjusted directly, with the angles updating automatically as you do so. Both workflows will be available in the future, so you can choose the one that best fits your planning process.
To help you optimize your floodlighting installation even more effectively, real-time calculation will also be added. This allows you to immediately see how changes to the arrangement or aiming affect the results, so you can improve your lighting installation faster and more precisely.
These new features are planned for the next version of DIALux evo. With our newsletter, we keep you informed about new features, releases and developments related to DIALux.
