Lüdenscheid, September 03, 2025 – DIAL has announced a new level of interoperability between its lighting design software DIALux evo and the globally renowned design and BIM platform Vectorworks . Based on the open IFC standard, this integration enables seamless data exchange, making it easier to incorporate professional lighting design into comprehensive building models. The enhanced workflow benefits MEP engineers, architects, and landscape architects.
BIM Models for seamless collaboration
Vectorworks is one of the leading design and BIM solutions worldwide, used in more than 85 countries across the architecture, interior design, landscape architecture and design, and entertainment industries. Through direct integration with DIALux evo, BIM models can now be exchanged effortlessly. This ensures consistent project data and strengthens interdisciplinary cooperation throughout the entire planning process.
“Our goal is for DIALux to become a trusted partner for all aspects of lighting design—throughout the entire project lifecycle,” says Dieter Polle, Managing Director of DIAL GmbH. “To achieve this, we are building seamless interfaces to all major 3D architectural CAD programs. The collaboration with Vectorworks marks an important milestone on this journey.”
Open for further partnerships
With the release of DIALux evo 13, DIAL has published the specifications of the underlying interface for all interested software manufacturers. The integration is based on IFC and the BIM methodology, enabling other BIM software providers to establish their own workflows with DIALux. This openness paves the way for a more connected, efficient, and collaborative digital planning ecosystem.
