Lüdenscheid, August 25, 2025 – With the new DIALux evo version 13.2, DIAL sets another milestone in professional lighting design. The update brings significant improvements for working within BIM workflows and makes the software even more flexible and powerful, especially when dealing with complex building models.
Flexible visibility control in the CAD view
Users can now flexibly show or hide any objects in the CAD view – from the smallest detail to an entire building. This ensures much better clarity during planning and reduces visual distractions. The status bar and project tree always provide information on which objects are hidden and allow a quick return to the complete view. The newly designed project tree also clearly marks which elements are visible or hidden and convinces with improved structure, higher performance, and easier project organization.

More precise collaboration with enhanced IFC export
With version 13.2, it is possible to individually adjust the IFC insertion point and orientation so that lighting designs align exactly with building models. These settings are saved project-wide, which makes the workflow significantly easier.

New luminaire layout plan for clearer documentation
The new luminaire layout plan also provides improved documentation. All luminaires in a project are compiled in a clearly structured table that can be exported as PDF, Excel, CSV, or XML. In addition to luminaire coordinates, the table now also includes information on location, mounting position, and rotation.
Cooperation with Vectorworks for seamless data exchange
Another major step forward is the cooperation with Vectorworks, one of the world’s leading design and BIM platforms. Based on the open IFC standard, this collaboration enables seamless data exchange, allowing professional lighting design to be integrated even more easily into comprehensive building models. The optimized workflow supports MEP planners, architects, and landscape architects alike in achieving precise and smooth collaboration.
Further optimizations and bug fixes
In addition to these highlights, DIALux evo 13.2 includes numerous further improvements. These include a new visibility control in the project tree that replaces the previous hide/show mechanism, support for eight additional 3D import formats such as FBX, OBJ, and STL, as well as various enhancements to rendering and DWG export. Numerous bug fixes also ensure greater stability and reliability in everyday project work.
