Lüdenscheid, April 29, 2025 – With the release of DIALux evo 13.1, DIAL presents a new version of its lighting design software. At the core of this update is the standards-compliant analysis and evaluation of light emissions, complemented by targeted improvements in the area of Open BIM.
Accurately evaluate light emissions according to standards
DIALux evo 13.1 offers lighting professionals powerful new features to assess light emissions with precision and in full compliance with applicable standards. Results can be directly compared with threshold values from international standards such as EN 12464-2:2014, CIE 150:2017, ÖNORM O 1052:2022, LAI 2012, and NSVV – clearly visualized within the user interface.
In addition, environmental zones can be defined directly in DIALux evo, allowing the software to automatically apply the correct threshold values. New calculation surfaces for vertical illuminance and luminance enable even more detailed project analysis.

Smart validation and visualization
The automatic target value check immediately indicates whether your lighting design complies with the selected standards – color-coded highlights clearly show any deviations. Maximum values can now be located directly in the CAD view, and a new feature allows you to trace any exceedance back to the responsible luminaire – a valuable innovation for faster troubleshooting.

Minimum and maximum values are displayed across all relevant calculation surfaces in the CAD environment. These critical points can be navigated to directly from the results dialog. Users can also now jump to any previously selected object with a single click – a major time-saver, especially in large-scale projects.

New features in Open BIM
There are also notable improvements for BIM users: IFC objects can now be saved as DIALux furniture and reused at any time. The project tree search function has been optimized to show found elements within their hierarchical structure, making orientation and management easier.
A preview of the upcoming DIALux evo 13.2 release promises even more: A comprehensive IFC feature package is planned, which will include the ability to show and hide individual objects within the project.
